The regulation at the EUEW is such that the presidency changes every 2 years, once the president is coming from an independent wholesaler, as now U.Liedtke from Würth in Germany, then the next president comes from a wholesale group like in this case A.Dewulf from Sonepar Belgium , then again an independent wholesaler (2021 Henk of itsme from the Netherlands), etc.

Solar from Denmark took over the HVAC business segment of Onninen AB in Sweden;

Solar from Denmark took over the HVAC business segment of Onninen AB in Sweden; this was previously agreed with the parent company Kesko from Finland. The purchase price amounts to 45 m DKK (6 m EUR).

The acquisition now strengthens the heating, plumbing, and air conditioning activities of Solar in Sweden, and has an impact on the year-end forecast for 2019. Solar now expects sales of at least 11.6 bn DKK (1.6 bn EUR).

The Würth Group's total revenue in 2018 increased by 7.1%

The Würth Group's total revenue in 2018 increased by 7.1% to 13.6 bn EUR (previously 12.7 bn EUR). The operating result increased from 780 m EUR to 870 m EUR, ie. an increase of 11.5%.

The electrical wholesale business (which belongs to the Allied Companies) reached 1.67 bn EUR, an increase of a remarkable 12.9%. 4,478 people are employed in this segment.

Sacchi, a member of the Sonepar Group, took over the electrical wholesaler Demo Elettroforniture from Casale Monferrato on 7 May 2019.

Sacchi, a member of the Sonepar Group, took over the electrical wholesaler Demo Elettroforniture from Casale Monferrato on 7 May 2019. Demo has 35 branches, employs about 300 people and has an annual turnover of 118 m EUR.

With this recent acquisition, Sonepar's sales in Italy will increase to approx. 1,250 m EUR p.a.

Demo was until now connected to the Findea marketing association, which in turn belongs to the international IDEE-Group; this membership will now be terminated.

This take-over still needs to be approved by the relevant competition authorities.

Sonepar increased its sales by 4.1% to a new high of

Sonepar increased its sales by 4.1% to a new high of 22.4 bn EUR from 21.6 bn EUR in 2017.

Europe accounts for € 11.2 bn EUR (50.2%), America 9.6 bn EUR (42.7%) and Asia / Pacific 1.6 bn EUR (7.1%).

The number 1 in Europe is Germany with 2,826 m EUR, followed by France with 2,335 m EUR, and the Netherlands with 1539 m EUR and Italy with 1,116 m EUR.

In America, it was the United States with 7,382 m EUR, followed by Canada with 1,099 and Mexico with 505 m EUR.  

In the Asian-Pacific region, the number 1 was Australia with 591 m EUR, followed by China (mainland) with 387 m EUR.

54% is done with contractors, 28% with industrial customers. In automation and infrastructure it is 34%, in cables and wires 16% and the lighting sector is 15%.

In contrast to the same period of the previous year, Legrand was able to increase its sales in the first quarter

In contrast to the same period of the previous year, Legrand was able to increase its sales in the first quarter of 2019 by 7.3% from 1,445.2 m EUR to 1,550 m EUR.

EBITDA increased by 9.2% from 324.6 m EUR to 354.4 m EUR and net income by 8.6% from 175.3 m EUR to 190.4 m EUR.

The distribution of sales was as follows: 42.1% was made in Europe, 36.6% in Central and North America, and 21.3% in the rest of the world.

Europe continued to grow (+ 2.3%) led by Italy, followed by Germany, Greece, Portugal and the UK. Sales declined in France, Spain and the Netherlands. In Europe's new markets, sales increased by 5.7%, with Russia, Turkey, Hungary and the Czech Republic standing out above all.
