Anixter International, the world's largest manufacturer / distributor of cables and wires from Glenview / IL , has decided to sell its business to a partner of Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (CD & R). The transaction has yet to be approved by the various competition authorities, but is expected to close in the first quarter of next year. The sales value is 3.8 bn USD (3.5 bn EUR).
From January to September 2019, Anixter's revenue was 6.6 bn USD (6 bn EUR), an increase of 5% over the previous year.
Net income increased 41% to 162 m USD (147 m EUR).

As you may know, IMARK Electrical (the other branch of the American association) already participated in 2012 as a shareholder in Imelco.

The new board now consists of the following people: newly elected was Ms Nicole Steuer (from Rexel Germany), Dr. Dirk Jandura (from Oskar Böttcher) and Michael Stausberg (from EGU Elektro Großhandels Union).
Re-elected were Markus Bruder (from Friedrich Streb Franz Bruder), Ulrich Liedtke and Uwe Schaffitzel (from Würth), Thomas Moczigemba (from EFG Cordes & Graefe) and Rainer Rommel (from Emil Löffelhardt).

Ms. Hanna Hennig (50) will become the new head of the global IT organization (Chief Information Officer CIO) at Siemens in early 2020. Hennig is still CIO at Osram Licht in Munich. She succeeds Helmuth Ludwig (57), who leaves the company at his own request at the end of the year. Ms Hennig will report directly to Roland Busch, Deputy Chairman of Siemens.
Hennig studied economics at the University of Hannover and has been working in IT for 25 years. During this time, she has assisted well-known companies in digitization, e.g. O2, E.ON and now Osram.

In the 9 months from January to September 2019, Rexel generated sales of EUR 10,221.7 m EUR, an increase of 3.6% over the same period last year. Of this total, 5,425.7 m EUR was generated in Europe, 3,918.9 m EUR in North America of which 3,107.2 m EUR in the US.
Country No. 1 in Europe was, as always, France with sales of 2,050.3 m EUR (+2.9%), Scandinavia 701.1 m EUR (+3.2%), UK 558.2 m EUR (-8.8%), Germany slipped even further to 481.2 m EUR, a minus of 19.6%!
Of the 877.0 m EUR from the Asia-Pacific region, 357.9 m EUR (an increase of 8.6% over the previous year) was generated in China.

Eaton's lighting division had sales of 1.7 bn USD (1.5 bn EUR) in 2018.
The transaction still has to be approved by the competition authorities. Final closing is expected in the 1st quarter of 2020.
Eaton's total sales in 2018 amounted to 21.6 bn USD (19.6 bn EUR), an increase of 5.9% over the previous year. Net profit in 2018 amounted to 2.145 m USD (1.945 m EUR), down a remarkable 28.2% on the previous year.
