Rexel continues its name change strategy in Spain as well; since 4th February ABM Rexel is now Rexel Spain S.L. (as in Germany/Hagemeyer  now Rexel, see our News of November 30, 2018).

Rumors in the market, that Rexel would give up in Spain are decidedly opposed. On the contrary, Rexel affirms its interest in the Spanish market and wants to expand its position also through acquisitions in the future. By the year 2020, Rexel wants to be one of the market leaders.

(Note from EMR: market leader in Spain is the Sonepar group with 8 companies and 130 branches, turnover of around 430 m EUR; but also the marketing organizations Electroclub / Imelco and Fegime are very strongly represented).

Rexel employs approx. 500 people in 47 branches and 4 logistics centers in Barcelona, Granada, Madrid and Renteria. The turnover in 2018 was 185 m EUR.
