Another record turnover for Weidmüller
For the fifth time in succession the Weidmüller Group can report record turnover, with the 2014 figure of EUR 673 m outstripping the prior year’s result by over 5%.
There has been turnover growth in all regions, with particularly positive developments in Japan (+116%), Hungary (+24%) and Spain (+17%). Germany grew steadily by over 2%.
With a growth rate of over 10% it was again the Asian region which achieved the greatest dynamism.
Besides the strong growth rates of over 10%, already a tradition, in China, the turnover in Japan could be more than doubled. Here Weidmüller had already been able to increase its turnover by 50% in 2013, and in 2014 it was just under 120%. Business in Japan is borne mainly by a prospering photovoltaic industry, in which Weidmüller products are listed as standard nowadays.
In Russia turnover fell by 10% due to the weak rouble and the difficult political situation. Just under 2% of Weidmüller’s turnover is generated in Russia.
After the negative turnover trend in the last few years, Southern Europe managed to come up with turnover growth again in 2014 (plus 6%). Above all Spain showed a very positive development for the Weidmüller Group with turnover growth of just under 17%. This is where Weidmüller opened its renewable energies competence centre for the whole group at the beginning of the year.
