Fagerhult: Lighting market recovers

The lighting manufacturer, which has its headquarters in Habo/Sweden and sales offices in 22 countries, made a turnover of SEK 905.5 m (EUR 97.2 m) in the 1st quarter 2015, 2.5% more than in the same quarter of last year (SEK 885.5 m/EUR 95.0 m).

Earnings fell from SEK 75.4 m (EUR 8.1 m) last year to a current figure of SEK 72.7 m (EUR 7.8 m).

Just over half of the turnover was generated with LED products, and the regional turnover breakdown is as follows: Northern Europe EUR 46.4 m; UK and Northern Ireland EUR 29.6 m; rest of Europe EUR 20.5 m; Middle East, Asia and Australia 12.4 m.

There was particular satisfaction with the development in the United Kingdom, where significant gains could be made. Conditions in Scandinavia, which makes up more than half of corporate turnover, turned out stable, but in large parts of the Eurozone there was less growth than hoped for.

However, Fagerhult has been recording a recovery in the lighting market ever since the beginning of 2013, and this is likely to continue in 2015.

New product developments, marketing and pushing ahead with internationalization are to ensure further growth.
