Rexel satisfied in 1st half-year 2016
Rexel achieved a turnover of EUR 6,510.5 m in the first half-year 2016, which was 0.9% less than in the same period last year.
EBITA (earnings before interest, tax and amortization) amounted to 272.3 m, and thus were 2.7% less. 27,383 people were employed all over the world.
Of the global figure of EUR 6,510.5 m, EUR 3,641.5 m was generated in Europe (+1.5%). In North America EUR 2,236.4 m (-4.7%) was generated. In the Asia/Pacific region the figure was EUR 632.6 m (-0.9%).
For the 2nd half of the year a few positive effects are expected which will also affect the year as a whole, for instance in France the upturn in the construction industry should continue, the drop in sales in the oil and gas sector will take a turn for the better and the copper effect will be less negative. However, it is difficult to predict the effects of the Brexit in the UK and uncertainty still reigns about the activities in North America and China.
