Sonepar continues with its takeovers in Netherlands

Sonepar took over the Dutch electrical wholesale company EMG van de Meerakker (founded in 2007) at the end of June 2016.

Van de Meerakker is mainly active in the machine and panel construction industry, making a turnover of approx. EUR 19.2 m in 2015. The company employs 35 people in its 4 sales outlets in Weert, Veghel, Barendrecht and Veenendaal.

EMG van de Meerakker is being integrated into Sonepar’s subsidiary van Egmond, which has its headquarters in Doetinchem, thus strengthening the latter’s position in the market. van Egmond was only just taken over by Sonepar Nederland in 2015.

Sonepar’s largest subsidiary in the Netherlands by far is Technische Unie with approx. 40 branches.
