Tesla plans to offer battery systems for private households and companies
According to a dpa report the American electric car manufacturer Tesla wants to open up new markets for its battery packs.
They could be used, for instance, to cache electricity generated by solar or wind power for later use. If smart energy networks with fluctuating tariffs spread, customers could store the electricity when it is cheapest and use it later when they need it.
After being launched in the United States in the summer, Tesla’s batteries are also to be sold internationally. Tesla is to have the help of the Hamburg green electricity supplier Lichtblick in integrating the batteries into the electricity network.
