Würth Group’s turnover grows by 8.6%
In the first half year 2016 the Würth Group raised its turnover to EUR 5.93 bn, which represents a growth of 8.6% in comparison with last year. In local currency the plus amounts to 10.0%.
Very strong growth is recorded by the world market leader in installation and fastenings technology in Southern Europe, enabling it to build on the positive development of the last few quarters.
“On the whole we are satisfied with the development of the Würth Group,” says Robert Friedmann, the management spokesman.
One pleasing feature is the double-figure growth in the operating result, which amounted to EUR 275 m in the first half year, representing an increase of 17.0%, which is above average in respect to turnover.
The number of employees rose to 70,847 in the first half year 2016, an increase of 2.7%, and the group has invested around EUR 4 bn in the last 10 years.
For the year 2016 an increase in turnover to about EUR 11.9 bn is expected, with a corresponding development in the operating result.
