Press release from HellermannTyton

The Ratchet P-Clamp by cable management specialist HellermannTyton is a cable clamp with a specially developed ratchet fastener. It is suitable for example in rail vehicles for the attachment of pipes, hoses or pipes.

The design of the novel P-clamp allows the assembly by clamp at a single point of attachment, in two separate steps: pre-assembly and final assembly. The cumbersome handling of conventional P-clamps during assembly and maintenance is over.

The Ratchet P-Clamp can be easily closed by hand to the exact diameter. The serrated interior design automatically centers the bundles and minimizes the risk of crushing. Soft elastomer profiles are sold separately and provide strain relief and protection against vibration abrasion.
If required, the unique locking mechanism can be levered out with a flat-head screwdriver. This makes the robust Ratchet P-Clamp reusable several times over. No screws or bolts need to be removed. Maintenance engineers are enthusiastic because no complete disassembly is necessary anymore.

The Ratchet P-Clamp is available in four flexible sizes (A, B, C and D) covering all common diameters from 6.2mm to 51.0mm. The adjustable clamp diameter allows a reduction in the variety of parts of metal or plastic P-clamps with specific diameters.

The polyamide plastic (PA66V0) used complies with the safety standards of the European railway standard EN 45545-2. The corrosion-resistant mounting plate made of stainless steel is suitable for high torques. M6, M8, M10 and M12 hole sizes also ensure greater freedom of configuration than conventional P-clamps.

In addition, the design offers another attachment point for cable ties on the outer edge - to guide additional lines parallel to the bundle.
