Eaton could not make up any ground in the 3rd quarter of 2020 either. Total sales were USD 4,5 m (EUR 3,8 m) compared to USD 5,3 m (EUR 4,5 m) in the third quarter of 2019.

For the 9 months the result is a turnover of USD 13,171 m (EUR 11,170 m); compared to 2019 with USD 16,152 m (EUR 13,699 m) this is a decrease of 18.5%.

Net income for the nine months was $ 939 m compared to $ 1,760 m in 2019.

Eaton suffered a 30% loss in Q2 2020 compared to the previous year. Revenue was USD 3. 9 m (EUR 3.3 m). As always, the electrical departments (Electrical Americas and Electrical Global) were the largest with a share of 67%; although there were heavy losses here, too.

Net income was USD 54 m (EUR 46 m); here a dramatic loss of 91.5%.

The sale of the lighting division, which was made on March 2nd to Signify for USD 1.4 bn (EUR 1.3 bn), came just to the right time.

Eaton has sold its lighting business to Signify of the Netherlands for 1.4 bn USD (1.3 bn EUR) in cash.

Signify N.V. is a lighting manufacturer based in Eindhoven/NL. Originally it was a division of the electronics manufacturer Philips and has been listed on the stock exchange as an independent company since May 2016.

Eaton's lighting division had sales of 1.7 bn USD (1.5 bn EUR) in 2018.

The transaction still has to be approved by the competition authorities. Final closing is expected in the 1st quarter of 2020.

Eaton's total sales in 2018 amounted to 21.6 bn USD (19.6 bn EUR), an increase of 5.9% over the previous year. Net profit in 2018 amounted to 2.145 m USD (1.945 m EUR), down a remarkable 28.2% on the previous year.

Eaton Corp. from Ireland is apparently nearing the acquisition of the Turkish electric switchgear manufacturer Ulusoy Elektrik.

Eaton would pay USD 300 m (EUR 265 m); obtain 80% of the shares from members of the founding family and then make a takeover bid to the remaining co-owners in order to take over the rest.

 

Ulusoy employed at the end of September 2018 708 people. Ulusoy has factories in Turkey, since 2009 they also have a sales office in Algeria and since 2015 they produce a certain part in Indonesia.

From Jan. to Sept 2018, the turnover amounted to TL 405.9 m (EUR 68.3 m); an increase of 41.5% over the same period last year. Domestic sales fell by 1.3% to TL 237.7 m (EUR 40 m), while exports increased by 267.2% to TL 168.2 m (EUR 28.3 m).

The net profit in the nine months amounted to TL 93.9 m (EUR 15.8 m), an increase of 68%.

The “Electrical Products” and “Electrical Systems and Services” divisions together made 3,113 m USD = 2,598 m EUR, or 59.3% of total revenue.

Net income was 488 m USD (407 m EUR), an increase of 12.4%.

Ms Livers has been working in the electrical industry for over 20 years, most recently at Graybar, one of the leading electrical wholesale companies in the US. Before that she had worked at Cooper Industries/Eaton for a time and been involved in association activities of NAED.

Operating income stood at USD 857 m (EUR 737 m), an increase of 7.1%, while net profits amounted to USD 1,399 m (EUR 1,203 m), representing a growth rate of 167.5%.

The electrical products and electrical systems and services divisions together made USD 3,278 m = EUR 2,819 m (+2.3%), thus making up 63% of total turnover.

Canadian company LeddarTech, which is engaged in technologies for autonomous driving. In the 3rd quarter 2017 Osram achieved a total turnover of EUR 1,056 which is 6.2% more than last year’s figure.

ABB has appointed Doug Schuster as head of Thomas & Betts, the company it acquired in May 2012.

ABB has appointed Doug Schuster as head of Thomas & Betts, the company it acquired in May 2012.

Schuster comes from Eaton, where he has been working in a variety of positions in the last 11 years. He will be based in Memphis /Tennessee at ABB’s headquarters.

Schuster has more than 30 years’ experience in the electrical installations industry and therefore he is expected to advance the T&B branch of the business in the USA and also internationally.

Greg Scheu, the head of ABB in the Americas is confident that Schuster will lead Thomas & Betts to a new level.

In the 1st quarter 2016 Eaton Corp. only managed to realize a turnover of USD 4,813 m (EUR 4,202 m), a minus of 8% compared to the same period last year.

In the 1st quarter 2016 Eaton Corp. only managed to realize a turnover of USD 4,813 m (EUR 4,202 m), a minus of 8% compared to the same period last year.

The operating result stood at USD 669 m (EUR 584 m), a minus of 11%. Net profits amounted to USD 404 m (EUR 353 m) and thus also to a minus of 13%.

The Electrical Products division recorded a 1% minus (USD 1,680 m=EUR 1,467 m), Electrical Systems and Services a 7% minus (USD 1,342 m= EUR 1,172 m) and the other corporate divisions without exception lay in the red.
