Barcella Elettroforniture from Azzano San Paolo, with 20 branches, took over the big shop Zani Ranzenigo from Collebeato with 4 branches at the beginning of 2017.

With this acquisition, Barcella is increasing its turnover exceeds € 130 million.

Ranzenigo is a dedicated lighting specialist and therefore retains its original name, including the management team, after the acquisition. Both major distributors are part of the marketing company Elex Italia and thus of the international Imelco organization.

After a lot of toing and froing Guido Barcella has now decided to run for the presidency of the Italian electrical wholesale association on 26th January. 

He is expected to become the successor of Giampaolo Ferrari, who led the association for 6 years.

It is now a matter of putting together a team to support the president, especially with an eye to the European Electrical Wholesalers’ Congress which takes place in June in Sardinia.

A few names are already being put forward, e.g. Ezio Galli is to become vice-president and Simon Sanfilippo, CEO of Elex Italia is also to be taken on board.

According to Italian specialist reports the Italian electrical wholesale trade managed an average rise of 6.31% in 2015..........

against the prior year, whereby it was interesting to observe that apart from January and February there were only rises.

This average figure of 6.31% is mainly due to the good result of the three electrical groups, with Sonepar leading the ranks with +10.8%, followed by Elex Italia with +8.7% and Startre with plus 8.4%.

After them comes FEGIME with 5.9%, the Elettroteca Group with +5.5%, followed by ANSE with 5.26% and FINDEA with 5.1%. GEWA had +0.95% and REXEL a drop of 2.8%.

Comoli Ferrari is to take over the Mauri Group with effect from 1st January 2016.

Comoli Ferrari is to take over the Mauri Group with effect from 1st January 2016.

With subsidiaries Comoli has 72 branches and belongs to the Italian marketing association Elex Italia, which in turn is affiliated to the international organisation IMELCO.

Mauri has 27 branches and belongs to Findea, which belongs to IDEE.

Both firms operate mainly in Northern Italy.
