The managing director Jens Andersen was very satisfied with the result of last year. Solar A / S from Vejen with over 2,900 employees is one of the most important wholesalers in the Scandinavian area and achieved a total turnover of DKK 11,465 million (EUR 1.5 million) in 2020 and thus only a slight decrease of 1.8%. However, profit (EBITA) far exceeded expectations, from 360 (48) to DKK 455 million (EUR 61 million), an increase of 26%.

Last year a new strategy was introduced called Core +. The new strategy focuses on the solid company foundation and the 4 core areas: Concepts, Climate & Energy, Industry and Trade. Here Solar sees great opportunities for profitable growth in the coming years 2021 to 2023.

Sonepar wants to become the world's leading, most advanced electrical wholesaler, with a totally new organization;

Sonepar wants to become the world's leading, most advanced electrical wholesaler, with a totally new organization; also in terms of marketing, digitization and new country responsibilities. This new organization came into force on 23.4.2019.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) remains Philippe Delpech, based in Paris.

Jérôme Malassigne was hired from 20.5.2019 onwards as Chief Strategic Marketing and Sourcing Officer and Head of the Asia-Pacific region. He will be stationed in Geneva, where he will lead and coordinate the various activities.

Jo Verbeek, head of Sonepar Asia Pacific, will report to J.Malassigne.

Dave Gabriel, Sonepar's Chief Operating Officer (COO), will be retiring on 15.5.2019 and heading back to the US.

His successor as President Sonepar North America (Canada, Mexico, US) will become Rob Taylor.

Stefan Stegemann becomes President of Sonepar Central and Northern Europe (responsible for Austria, the Baltics, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Luxemburg, Norway, Poland, Romania, Sweden and Switzerland).

Patrick Salvadori will become president of Sonepar Western Europe and South America (responsible for Belgium, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, United Kingdom and South America.) P. Salvadori will be based in Paris, at the company's headquarters.

Benoit Pedoussaut remains president of Sonepar France.

Andros Neocleous becomes Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Sara Biraschi Rolland becomes Chief Human Resources Officer.

Olivier Catherine becomes General Counsel.

Jérémie Profeta is responsible for digitization (Chief Digital Enterprise Officer)

Matt Pothecary is Vice President of Communications and Sustainability.

On September 12th, we reported that Simon Sanfilippo, the managing director of the Italian purchasing association Elex Italia.......

will be engaged by Würth early 2019, and also that Ryszard D'Antoni of the Polish purchasing association SHE, had been employed at Würth for over a year.

Now Würth's further strategy seems to be clear: D'Antoni, who turns 65 next  September, will then go into well-deserved retirement. His successor will be Simon Sanfilippo, who will mainly focus on cooperation with manufacturers at European level.

This move will not make things easier for the ailing companies Rexel and Sonepar (see electro-insider of 14. September) and Würth is in the process of establishing itself further as an international marketing company.

are now to be managed under the ABB brand; ABB sees this as an important step in its next-level strategy.

This new strategy will take effect in March 2018 and Baldor Electric will be the first product to have belonged to ABB for 7 years and will now be known as ABB from 1.3.2018 onwards.

"This represents yet another great step in building a market-focused, lean organization and unifying the ABB brand across the globe," said Sami Atiya, president of ABB's Robotics and Motion division.
