Sonepar Italia generated sales of EUR 622 million in 2019; this is 3% more than in the previous year. Online sales stood at EUR 100 million (16% of sales).

In 2019, the takeover of the Elettroveneta Group (turnover EUR 230 million) was also completed. Elettroveneta previously belonged to the Findea group and thus to the international IDEE marketing association. If one were to add the turnover of Elettroveneta to Sonepar, Sonepar would have reached a total of over EUR 830 million in 2019.

Sonepar increased its sales last year by 7.1% to EUR 24 bn. 2019 was not only a very profitable year for the company, it was also the 50th anniversary since its foundation.

Sonepar increased its sales by 4.1% to a new high of 22.4 bn EUR from 21.6 bn EUR in 2017.

Europe accounts for € 11.2 bn EUR (50.2%), America 9.6 bn EUR (42.7%) and Asia / Pacific 1.6 bn EUR (7.1%).

The number 1 in Europe is Germany with 2,826 m EUR, followed by France with 2,335 m EUR, and the Netherlands with 1539 m EUR and Italy with 1,116 m EUR.

In America, it was the United States with 7,382 m EUR, followed by Canada with 1,099 and Mexico with 505 m EUR.  

In the Asian-Pacific region, the number 1 was Australia with 591 m EUR, followed by China (mainland) with 387 m EUR.

54% is done with contractors, 28% with industrial customers. In automation and infrastructure it is 34%, in cables and wires 16% and the lighting sector is 15%.

Amazon was able to present a tremendous rise in sales and profit in the first quarter of 2019 compared to last year.

Net sales increased 17% from 51 bn USD (45.4 bn EUR) to 59.7bn USD (53.2 bn EUR). And net income increased 125% from 1.6 bn USD (1.4 bn EUR) to 3.6 bn USD (3.2 bn EUR). In the 2.quarter they want to increase sales by 13 - 20% over the previous year.

Schneider Electric generated sales of 6,307 m EUR in the first quarter of the year, up 8.7% on the same period last year.

32% was achieved in North America; 25% in Western Europe, 27% in the Asia-Pacific region and 16% in the rest of the world.

The year-end targets have already been confirmed, with organic revenue growth of + 3% to 5% and EBITA growth of between 4 and 7%. The Chinese market will continue to grow, but not quite as strongly as before. Favorable to moderate opportunities are expected for North America, Asia-Pacific and Europe.

SEK 1,270.7 m (EUR 122.3 m) in the 3 months from January to March 2018, 2.1% more than in the previous year. About 3,300 employees were employed.

The operating result amounted to SEK 138.6 m (EUR 13.3 m), a decrease of 9.6%.

Regional sales were as follows: Northern Europe EUR 49.7 m, UK and Northern Ireland EUR 26.1 m, Rest of Europe EUR 41.2 m, Africa, Asia and Pacific EUR 16.4 m.

At the beginning of March 2018, the Dutch lighting company Veko Lightsystems International B.V., based in Schagen / NL, was acquired. In December 2017 Veko employed 130 people and had a turnover of EUR 37 m. Fagerhult paid EUR 31.5 m. In addition, there could be additional payments, which depend however on the company's performance in the next 3 years.

In Western Europe (28.2% of total sales) it was 1,633 m. In the Asian-Pacific region (28.1% of the total) 1.630 m, in North America (27.2%) 1.576 m and in the rest of the world (16.5%) 961 m.

The strong performance in Q1 is a good sign for organic sales growth this year.
Schneider Electric also benefits from its multi-regional model at a time when one tries to regionalize markets.
