Sonepar Italia generated sales of EUR 622 million in 2019; this is 3% more than in the previous year. Online sales stood at EUR 100 million (16% of sales).

In 2019, the takeover of the Elettroveneta Group (turnover EUR 230 million) was also completed. Elettroveneta previously belonged to the Findea group and thus to the international IDEE marketing association. If one were to add the turnover of Elettroveneta to Sonepar, Sonepar would have reached a total of over EUR 830 million in 2019.

Sacchi, a member of the Sonepar Group, took over the electrical wholesaler Demo Elettroforniture from Casale Monferrato on 7 May 2019.

Sacchi, a member of the Sonepar Group, took over the electrical wholesaler Demo Elettroforniture from Casale Monferrato on 7 May 2019. Demo has 35 branches, employs about 300 people and has an annual turnover of 118 m EUR.

With this recent acquisition, Sonepar's sales in Italy will increase to approx. 1,250 m EUR p.a.

Demo was until now connected to the Findea marketing association, which in turn belongs to the international IDEE-Group; this membership will now be terminated.

This take-over still needs to be approved by the relevant competition authorities.

As we reported on February 22, 2017, Sonepar has taken over the electrical wholesaler G. Sacchi with 1,130 employees...........

and 56 branches in Italy. On June 28, 2018, the purchase was officially completed by the transfer of the shares.


Sacchi retains its identity, name and management-team, and the Sacchi family will, to some extent, remain shareholder in their own company. This is important for the employees, customers and suppliers. Former CEO Marco Giorgio Brunetti will continue to lead the company following the acquisition by Sonepar.

Sacchi and Sonepar Italia will together be the largest distribution unit in Italy with a market share of around 20% and a turnover of more than EUR 1 bn.
